Our Vocational School bid farewell to the graduates of the 2024-2025 Academic Year with a ceremony. The ceremony held in the Conference Hall of our Vocational School was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal, OSTİM Technical University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ünsal Sığrı, our University Rector Advisors Prof. Dr. Selami Candan and Prof. Dr. Togay Seçkin Birbudak, OSTİM Industrialists and Businessmen Association President Esat Hisarcıklılar, OSTİM Board of Directors President Orhan Aydın, Vice President Sıtkı Öztuna, OSTİM Board of Directors Member Behzat Zeydan, OSTİM Audit Board Member Mehmet Alkan, OSTİM Regional Manager Adem Arıcı, Ostim Technical University Vocational School Director Dr. Lecturer Turan Şişman, our School Director Prof. Dr. Alpay Özer, academic staff, students and their families. The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, and continued with the Ankara Seymenleri show.

Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, our Director Prof. Dr. Alpay Özer began his speech by thanking our Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal and the representatives of industrial organizations in OSTİM for their support to the Vocational School. Our Director Prof. Dr. Alpay Özer also thanked the academic staff and the families of the students. Prof. Dr. Alpay Özer stated that the students graduated from a qualified university like Gazi University and wished them success in their future lives. 

OSTİM Industrialists and Businessmen Association President Esat Hisarcıklılar expressed his belief that the graduates will make significant contributions to the development of our country in their professional lives. OSTİM Board of Directors President Orhan Aydın began his speech by emphasizing that he is a graduate of Gazi University. Orhan Aydın said that they will continue to support the Vocational School and the students.

Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal said that our University, the foundations of which were laid in 1926 upon the instructions of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was opened in the current Rectorate building under the name of “Middle Teacher Training School and Education Institute” and gained the identity of “Gazi University” in 1982.

Stating that our University is an entrepreneurial and pioneering university in science, technology and art at the international level, which prioritizes academic success, continues to produce qualified graduates, Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal stated that our Technical Sciences Vocational School has been one of the leading vocational schools in Türkiye, prioritizing academic success and continuing to produce qualified graduates since the first day it was founded. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal noted that our Technical Sciences Vocational School, which realizes university-industry cooperation at a high level, is and continues to be an example for many vocational schools in our country.

Addressing the academic staff by saying, “You have made it your mission to raise analytical, questioning, and horizon-oriented students with a student-focused education approach in the Ostim campus, namely the center of the industry,” Prof. Dr. Ünal said, “I must proudly state that our Technical Sciences Vocational School has the highest student placement rates among associate degree programs in our country with your valuable contributions. I congratulate you all.”

Addressing the managers and business people of the Ostim Organized Industrial Zone, Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal continued his speech as follows: “We are proud of you for your leadership in the nationalization initiative initiated in our industry and your qualified production. You are the source of inspiration for our students with the sectoral projects you are carrying out. You have welcomed our students to your workplaces so that they can benefit from the knowledge and experience you have accumulated over many years. I would like to thank each and every one of you on behalf of our students and our University for the contributions you have provided to the professional and sectoral development of our students.”

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ünal also thanked the parents for their efforts and expressed that they shared their joy.

Congratulating our graduating students, Prof. Dr. Ünal concluded his speech as follows: “Today, we are experiencing the happiness of being in the same environment with you and realizing your well-deserved graduation. I congratulate you, our students, for graduating from such a successful Vocational School. As of today, you are graduating from Gazi University. We know that with the knowledge and inspiration you have gained here, you will work tirelessly on the path opened by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to take our country to the level of contemporary civilizations. You will carry Turkey forward in the field of industry and technology, strengthen local and national production and increase the power of our country in the international arena, and will be sought-after personnel. I wish you all success and well-being throughout your professional lives.”

The graduation program, which continued with the presentation of certificates to the students who ranked and the pennant handover ceremony, ended with the plaque nailing of the school’s top student to the age log, the graduation oath and the throwing of the caps.
